Background: Soul was found as when he was 3 and raised by a village of humans. He was found with an ornately crafted dagger and an old book with a seal he has yet to discover how to open. He was always treated as a bit of an outcast, even though the village elders welcomed him with open arms and a family took him in. Some of the children of the village picked on him and called him the Shadow and the Abandoned. As Soul grew up, he found himself looking more and more to the night sky and the world beyond the little village he was in. When he turned 7, he decided that since his birth name was unknown, he would choose a name for himself. Ever since the first time he heard the word 'soul', he had taken a liking to it. When he learned what a soul was, he knew this was what he wanted to be called until his true name was found. He learned about his ice powers on accident when he about spilled a bucket of water he was carrying. He had tried catching the water as it spilled, and in an instant, the entire bucket of water was frozen, and shattered to the floor. After discovering this, he continued trying to tap into his powers, usually in secret. One day, as he traveled to the hidden place he goes to gaze at the stars, he came across a wounded hawk who had a crescent gash on his breast. From what he had learned about nature, he tried to heal the wound as best as he could, caring for and nursing the hawk back to health. Since that day, the hawk has remained by Soul's side. When he turned 17, having enough of the village, Soul set out on his own, in search of his past and to find a means to open the mysterious book.
